Arielle Jacobs has been cast as Jasmine in the Australian production of Aladdin, hitting Sydney this August.
Arielle Jacobs, who has been seen on Broadway in In the Heights and Wicked—and is the sister of Aladdin’s leading man on Broadway, Adam Jacobs—has been cast as Jasmine in the Australian production of the Disney musical.
The two surprised their parents with that news with a performance of “A Whole New World.”
Before playing the video, Arielle asked her parents, “Have you guys seen this publicity video of Adam singing with the new Jasmine for the Australian production? Disney did a worldwide casting search, and then flew her to NYC to sing with Adam for a press video.”
By the end of the song, they realized that both of the Jacobs siblings will be starring onstage in Disney’s Aladdin on opposite sides of the world simultaneously.
