GET TO KNOW ARIELLE

Arielle Jacobs starred as ‘Princess Jasmine’ in the smash-hit Broadway musical Disney’s Aladdin, and most recently starred as the former First Lady of the Philippines ‘Imelda Marcos’ opposite Lea Salonga in the historic first-ever all-Filipino Broadway cast of David Byrne's Here Lies Love. Ms. Jacobs made her Broadway debut starring opposite Lin-Manuel Miranda, playing ‘Nina Rosario’ in the final Broadway cast of his four-time Tony Award® and Grammy Award® winning musical In The Heights. She also starred in Wicked on Broadway as Nessarose. She originated the role of ‘Gabriella’ in Disney’s High School Musical On Stage (based on the hit original Disney Channel film), as well as the role of ‘Delilah’ in the Off-Broadway musical Between The Lines, based on the book by NY Times best-selling author Jodi Picoult.

She voiced the immersive sci-fi film Postcard From Earth, directed by Darren Aronofsky for the largest screen on earth, now playing in 18k at the MSG SPHERE in Las Vegas.

She recorded two songs for the comic book character “Spintress,” a new singing Marvel superhero introduced in Marvel comic’s Edge of the Spiderverse #4, written by David Hein.

Praised as “compelling” and “radiant” by Variety Magazine, and her voice as “powerful” by The New York Times, Ms. Jacobs also wowed audiences with starring roles in Rent (Mimi), Two Gentlemen of Verona (Julia) at the Shakespeare Theatre Company in Washington DC, and Into the Woods (Baker’s Wife) where she performed opposite Emmy®-nominated actor Tituss Burgess.

She has starred Off-Broadway in two world-premiere plays by Pulitzer-winning playwright and director Nilo Cruz, entitled Sotto Voce and Farhad or the Secret of Being (a one-woman show that was filmed for the Lincoln Center Public Library Archives). She had the honor to perform in the Guggenheim Museum’s “Works & Process” series, singing songs from a new adaption of George Bizet’s Carmen with the Tectonic Theater Project, under the guidance of Tony and Emmy-nominated director Moises Kaufman. While her singing voice can be heard on film scores and on television, she has also performed onstage in many of America's greatest concert halls (including Lincoln Center in NYC, The Kennedy Center in Washington DC, Symphony Hall in Boston, Yale Hall, the Saenger Theater in New Orleans, Kauffman Center, and many more) beside legendary artists such as Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, Damien Sneed, Chaka Khan, Teena Marie, and Stephen Schwartz.

Merging her two loves -- Broadway and animals— she founded a company called “The Broadway Pup”, which sells punny Broadway-themed pet bandanas & donates 100% of profits to animal rescue charities.

She is also the co-founder of Sanctavía, an online school for Longevity, with a series of courses on sustainable Physical training, Breath Training, Meditation, and Fall Prevention skills to help people live safely and powerfully for as long as possible.

Ms. Jacobs’ soaring solo album A Leap In the Dark: Live at Feinstein's/54 Below was released by Broadway Records.

Playing Princess Jasmine on Broadway and in Australia was a dream come true. I grew up watching the original Disney’s Aladdin film on repeat, and even sang “A Whole New World” for my 4th Grade talent show!

Originating the role of Delilah McPhee in Between the Lines Off-Broadway was a magical journey that spanned
6 years of development.
This heartwarming tale, based on the book by Jodi Picoult & her daughter Samantha Van Leer, is about becoming the hero of your own story.

Embodying the role of Imelda Marcos (the former First Lady of the Philippines) from age 16-57 in David Byrne’s musical Here Lies Love, was the honor of a lifetime. We were the historic, first-ever all-Filipino cast on Broadway, including Lea Salonga (the original singing voice of
Jasmine &Mulan)!
Watch it at Lincoln Center Library.

When I was younger, every year for Halloween I would dress up as a witch. I always wanted to be a witch with magical powers!  So getting to play Nessarose, the “Wicked Witch of the East”, in the hit musical Wicked on Broadway… was “thrillifying”!

Playing this role, Farhad, in the Off-Broadway one-woman musical “Farhad or The Secret of Being”, was life-changing. Farhad is a 12-year-old Afghani girl whose family raised her as a boy until she’s forced to become a girl again & into an arranged marriage.  I performed the entire one-act musical within the confined space of a 5x7 foot prayer rug. Download it on iTunes, or watch it at Lincoln Center Library.

My Broadway debut! I played Nina Rosario in the closing cast of In The Heights, opposite Lin-Manuel Miranda. I loved singing the song “Breathe” every night.  The show made me think about the legacy of my family, and how much my parents & ancestors have sacrificed in order for me to be here living my dream.
